Description

A respected healthcare organization in Eastern New York is seeking a highly skilled Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services to lead the strategic and operational direction of both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health programs. This executive-level role is responsible for ensuring high-quality mental health services through effective management of clinical operations, financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and integration across the healthcare system.
📋 Position Overview:
• Oversee behavioral health programs across multiple care settings, ensuring continuous, high-quality patient care
• Lead a team of clinical and administrative professionals, with oversight of staffing, budgeting, and performance improvement
• Guide the expansion of inpatient psychiatric services, including program development tailored to specialized populations
• Serve as the subject matter expert on behavioral health regulations, compliance, and best practices
• Collaborate with system leaders to align behavioral health strategies with broader organizational goals
• Foster partnerships with community stakeholders and regulatory agencies
• Promote a culture of engagement, professional development, and patient-centered care

🎓 Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field
• Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Nursing Degree, or another advanced clinical license

Experience:

• Minimum of five years of Behavioral Health experience in a clinical & administrative capacity

• Preferred: Experience in a healthcare system or large program with multi-site clinical operations
